Bore Sighting a Rifle?

I recently purchased a Reington 700 SPS with a Reminton Stock scope pre-mounted. After using it at the range 3x I noticed that my shots are off to the right and when I aim about a target left it is fairly on target. Is it possible that the site is not mounted correctly?

Is there a way to test the sight? If I use a small laser point and put in the the barrel and then compare the scope cross-hairs and make the manual adjustments...will that work?

Have you tried adjusting the scope?

Look on the top and side of the scope. There are 2 caps to screw off, windage and elevation. There is a small dial under that adjust 1/4" per notch at 100 yards. Adjust the side clock wise to dial it in to the left. Take 3 shots and try again.

Continue to adjust until your shot groups are centered on the bullseye. Unless you adjust for distance such as up to 300 yards. Zero it in to shoot 3 inches high at 100 yards will still have you in the kill zone at 300 yards.
