Thomas and Margaret Henderson and their infant son, John, arrived in Sydney on Tuesday 17 September, 1793 at 6.00pm on board the vessel "Sugar Cane"
Thomas and Margaret had been convicted in Ireland as follows:-

At the Tholsel Court House, Dublin, on Thursday 17 November, 1791
Thomas was convicted for stealing an iron bar, the property of Mary QUINN and sentenced to 7 years transportation to the Colony of New South Wales.
Also at the Tholsel Court House, Dublin on Wednesday 25 July, 1792 Margaret was convicted for having stolen 2 Guineas, the property of Charles BYRNE, and sentenced to 7 years transportation to the Colony of New South Wales.
Their next born son, Robert (born 1796) would be the first of our family to actually be born in Australia (Colony of New South Wales).

OTHER CASES IN AUSTRALIA.
On Friday 6th and Saturday 7th November, 1812 at Parramatta, NSW Thomas and his son, Robert (Who was only 16) were charged with three offences:-
(On some of the charges their surname was listed as Anderson).
1st charge: Thomas and Robert charged with feloniously receiving one sheep, value twenty Shillings, the property of Reverend Samuel Marsden on 23.9.1812.
Verdict: NOT GUILTY.
2nd Charge: Thomas and Robert charged with feloniously stealing one sow, value twenty Shillings, the property of Reverend Samuel Marsden.
Verdict: Thomas guilty. Sentenced to 3 years gaol to be served at Newcastle, NSW.
Robert: NOT GUILTY.
3rd charge: Thomas charged with feloniously receiving a quantity of Clover seed, grass seed and Rye grass seed, value ten Shillings, the property of Reverend Samuel Marsden.
Verdict: Guilty. Sentenced to 2 years gaol to be served at Newcastle NSW.

In 1824 Robert was appointed District Constable for the Brisbane Water District.
